A Prayer to Freyja

A Prayer to Freyja

from A$90.00

Freyja is held here at the point where creation and destruction meet. In Norse mythology she governs love, death, fertility and magic — not as separate realms, but as forces that exist together, whether invited or not. This work approaches her as a body carrying consequence. The butterfly marks a moment of change — fragile, temporary, irreversible. The runes etched along her spine are not decorative; they function as intentions for what lies ahead: ancestry, endurance, awakening, journey, success, harvest. Read together, they form a sequence of survival and becoming.

This image is less about myth than about what myth allows us to name: the cost of transformation, and the strength required to continue forward once change has begun.
