Pink Still Life (crop)

I’ve always been enamoured with Dutch still life, Vanitas and Memento Mori sentiments. This is the second dramatic, larger than life piece I’ve created: this time with pink, Spring tones. As well as rich florals, this artwork is thick with Vanitas-style meaning. Birds in still life represent the resurrection of the soul after death. Butterflies and dragonflies are symbols of transformation, and snails remind us to slow down. Open edition (limited time) with hand-torn edge and signed/titled by artist.
